History

Nicefiller® was founded in 2011 as a spin-off from the University of Salerno’s Department of Industrial Chemical Engineering.
The researchers focused on creating a new technology that used the properties of specific molecules to increase the protection of materials and to prevent their surfaces from degrading.
The research activity and years of laboratory tests by Prof. Vittoria Vittoria and Dr. Valeria Bugatti allowed all the parameters to be defined that were needed to proceed to the next step in the product industrialization process.
In July 2014, the project received financial support from new active investors.
In the two years that followed, a company development program was launched which allowed skilled administrative, technical and managerial professionals to join the team. Testing then began with important industrial partners for the first food packaging application, called cronogard®
In July 2017, the protective and sustainable qualities of cronogard® received the seal of excellence as well as important funding from the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 program. The study of new applications for the products on different materials began in 2018 in order to meet the needs in other production and industrial sectors.
